Biography: Mia van Wyk
Mia van Wyk was born in 1979 and is a fine artist based in Centurion. Her preferred art medium is oil painting, while photography and collage provides inspiration for her artworks. Mia received training at The Open Window Art Academy and earned a three-year diploma in Visual Communication Design (Cum Laude) in 2000.
Since completing her studies, Mia has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions and has had three solo exhibitions in galleries such as Art Lovers 1932 Gallery, The Association of Arts Pretoria and Art Box Gallery. She is also a regular artist at Ink Box Art in Kalk Bay and was featured artist in the South African Artist magazine Issue 55.
Mia has a keen interest in the conservation of eco-systems and is inspired by all forms of nature. Her realistic oil paintings reveal, record, celebrate and honor the beauty and diversity of the birds, animals, plants and insects with which we co-exist.
